Professional Learning Teams
Professional Learning Teams, or PLTs, provide educators with planned and purposeful collaboration in an effort to better meet the needs of students. During our Wednesday PLT meetings, teams will work to share instructional strategies and best practices.
October PLT Updates
6th Grade
7th Grade
8th Grade
The 8th grade is reading “Life as we knew It” by Susan Beth Pfeffer. All subject areas are taking information from the book to teach interdisciplinary concepts for the core and elective subjects. We worked on creating end products for the students to develop throughout all aspects of the book. We are also developing a social/emotional curriculum to use during the early morning period times, and well as develop enrichment activities using the book.
Support Staff
This month our Support PLT reviewed students that were placed on the intervention matrix. We also discussed new students arriving at ROMS and how we can support them in and outside the class. There was some discussion on removing students from the intervention matrix that had shown progress and didn’t need the added support that the team could provide. The Support Team will continue to discuss and provide support to new students as they arrive at ROMS.
