Attending River Oaks Middle School is not a form of punishment. We exist to help students learn how to be successful in school.
River Oaks Middle School is a Positive Behavior Support (PBS) School. In order to be successful, students enrolled at River Oaks will adhere to the following
expectations:
Respect self, others, and property
Act responsibly
Maintain integrity
Show self discipline
ROMS Dress Code
While attending River Oaks Middle School, students are asked to comply with our dress code. River Oaks follows the current dress code policy set by the Wake County School Board, in addition to requiring our students to wear:
- Khaki pants, shorts or skirts.
- Finger tip rule for shorts and skirts.
- Solid black, white, or gray shirts with sleeves.
- No writing, logos, or images on shirts or pants.
- No headgear, hoods, or sunglasses worn at any time in the building.
- Neutral colored socks only (black, white, tan, brown, or gray).
- Standard shoe laces for all shoes, no replacement shoe laces.
- Tight fitting, revealing fabric and inappropriate clothes are not permitted.
- No colored accessories are to be worn (i.e. beads, wristbands, hats, gloves, etc.)
- Outerwear worn in the school must conform to dress code colors

Wednesday Dismissal Calendar
River Oaks Middle School PLTs got off to a great start on Wednesday, August 26 th ! We have four PLTs—6 th grade, 7 th grade, 8 th grade, and support staff. Each PLT has developed goals centered around improving student performance and achievement. The grade level teams are currently familiarizing themselves with student profiles and information and administering screening assessments to determine current achievement levels and needs. The support team will be reviewing data to identify students in need of individual interventions and strategies. |
